A Bakewell tart is an English confection consisting of a shortcrust pastry shell beneath layers of jam, frangipane, and a topping of flaked almonds. Six miniature Bakewell tarts on a scalloped ceramic plate iced in white with a dab of cherry jam in the centre. This full scale miniature teatime treat measures ~ 1 in diameter x 3/16 tall and is handcrafted by UK miniaturist Charlotte Willmott of Mouse House.
