This reproduction supports the cue sticks with round indentations on the base and holes in the wooden disk at the top of the stand. There is a small wooden bowl with a lid at the top of the spindle to hold the chalk. The chalk is applied to the end of the cue stick to prevent the cue from sliding off the ball prematurely ruining the shot (called a miscue).
